One of the greatest barriers that people with disabilities face is the misconceptions and attitudes of others labelling them.

In conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) that falls on 3 December each year, we have launched “UNLABEL”, a public education campaign, to challenge existing stereotypes, misconceptions, and prejudices against persons with disabilities.

We want to encourage the public to change perceptions and attitudes towards persons with disabilities, to UNLABEL them, by focusing on the achievements of those who have defied stereotypes.

About UNLABEL 2022

In collaboration with local creative agency Societal, we conceptualised a campaign that challenges the public’s preconceived notions about persons with disabilities. This year’s campaign features three remarkable individuals, or rebels as we call them, who have defied stereotypes and not let their disabilities get in the way of their ambitions.

Through their sharing, we hope to bring the focus back to what matters:

not the disabilities, but the passion, aspirations and

abilities of these individuals.

With the support of SMRT Corporation, you can catch the UNLABEL posters at selected SMRT train stations and in-train panels from 24 November to 21 December 2022.
